The 2016 Twenty20 world in India was far from perfect at ground level but its commercial success - and the Twenty20 national leagues challenge Psl schedule and teams 2018 - has prompted a rethink about an original plan to move the tournament to a four-year cycle. The next edition was scheduled for Australia in the year 2020 but tournaments could now be held in 2018 and 2022, with the 50 ICC Champions Trophy possibly eliminated after the 2017 tournament in England as a result of brand event of the shorter remaining Biennial form. This move, along with the renewal for the one-day test and cricket, would require a rethinking of the future tours program - runs until 2019 currently - and would have to be those by the ICC Board.
